I mentioned earlier that I didn’t see the need to do 90% of the work but have to hand over 35% of the money and so my idea is this:

Single Trucks

Single truck pulling my trailer - You keep 70%
Single truck pulling your trailer - you keep 75%

Team Trucks

Team truck pulling my trailer - you keep 75%
Team truck pulling your trailer – you keep 80%

The my trailer vs your trailer should be obvious but if its not then you may want to re-read the “About You” section where I explained that I don’t mind offering help learning some things but I’m not a babysitter.

Micro Carrier

Why offer a larger split to teams… simple. I have to insure one truck but that one truck has two drivers running twice the number of miles ( give or take ) It’s an economy of scale thing.

Lets say there’s one truck running 100K miles and lets say that truck runs those miles at $1.00 P/M. That truck made $100K. Now lets assume they used their trailer so they paid 25% of that to me. That’s 25K…

Now lets say that a team operation ran 200K miles at that same $1.00 P/M and they ran it with their trailer. At 80% the carrier made 40K.

Teams simply run more miles so they generate more revenue and in my way of thinking… they earned the money… they should keep more of what they made. The expenses don’t change that much because I only have to insure the same one truck…

Now lets talk about percentage of what exactly

Since I am only interested in being a micro carrier then I won’t ever be big enough to have contract freight so everyone runs the load board and pulls spot freight. Spot freight pays better on average anyway and so there is no “fuel surcharge” or other accessiorials so the rate simply is what the rate is. You get your percentage of the rate con. No gimmicks, no games. Pull a load for $1,000 and you get your percentage of the $1,000
